The Wise-’15 congress, a collaboration between ChessWise and DevLab, was very well visited in Haarlem on September 30th. The first part of the program contained technical presentations about two of the currently running projects at DevLab. It was accompanied by a real life demonstration with electronic wristbands by Salland electronics. The second part was addressing also a non-technical audience and highlighted the evolution of computing over 40 years and the contribution from ChessWise and DevLab towards the use of very small, wirelessly communicating computers for Internet of Things type of applications. Three professors from the 3 Technical Universities contributed to both parts of the program with great succes. During the program Frits van der Wateren, who recently retired but not stopped his activities for ChessWise, was honored for his hugh contribution to the many projects that have lead to the results we have available today.
