DevLab initiated DevLab Academy since 2016, in order to support the development of technology education on primary and secondary schools. Several projects have been set up in this mission. Some of them have resulted in new lesson materials based on micro:bit.
The MAKER Lesserie is one of the results of an Erasmus project (“How to raise an inventor”) in which 4 countries participated. The Netherlands (Coöperatie DevLab) has developed the micro:bit MAKER lesson series in this project, other countries have developed other lesson modules (read: no micro:bit). All modules are available in Dutch and English.
The MAKER Lesson Series was created by means of a European Erasmus project.
Other teaching modules have also been developed in this project. Like the MAKER Lesson Series, all modules were initially developed in the language of the developers. Subsequently, all modules were also translated into English, and into the languages of all participating countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and the Netherlands). All modules were tested in practice in schools in Lithuania, Latvia and the Netherlands.
Below is an overview of the developed teaching modules:
- from the Netherlands: micro:bit lesserie MAKER
- from Poland: LEGO mindstorms
- from Lithuania: 3d design and printing
- from Lithuania: from idea to creation
