What - the activities

blimp.jpgDevLab is leading and participating in scientific research and applied science projects. The results of these projects become available for all DevLab member companies who are free to use it in their own product developments. Dutch universities are involved in the projects with PhD research and graduation assignments. Technical colleges are involved with applied science assignments. The networks of participants and affiliated partners play an important role in the participation of DevLab in the national knowledge infrastructure. DevLab is the vehicle for the participating SMEs to take part in that eco-system.

two approaches

DevLab has two different approaches to define projects.
The first approach is the "ultimate product" or "dream projects" (e.g. Atalanta) used as a guideline for the definition of research, development and technology topics. The objective of this approach is to create spin-off while driving the road towards the final product and not the product itself.
The second approach is based on technology concepts (e.g. MyriaNed) which lead to the availability of technology to be used in real products by the DevLab participants. The definition of a technology concept in this approach can be a result of a project from the "ultimate product" approach.
